Jayco expands week-end warrior range

Jayco has already rolled out a number of new 2025 models for its 50th Anniversary year, but now the big-selling Melbourne manufacturer has ripped the covers of a couple of new adventure-ready models at the 2025 Geelong Outdoor Living & Caravan Expo, held recently at the Geelong Showgrounds in Victoria, along with a new entry-level Starcraft caravan...

Jayco's teardrop-style JPod camper has been around in various iterations for a few years, and now Jayco is adding a fourth new, extra-large JPod variant to the range.

Advertised with a base price of $38,690, the new range-topping JPod-XL Outback camper combines elements of the standard JPod with Jayco's larger CrossTrak hybrid, and comes equipped for dirt driving with a Cruisemaster DO-35 coupling, J-Tech coil independent suspension, and alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres.

Boasting an olive green exterior, the display model also had a front checkerplate toolbox and offside locker for external storage, along with a galvanised chassis, gas bottle and jerry holder, roof rack, and a side awning.

The recessed external kitchen featured some cupboards and a pull-out drawer, a small 12V fridge, a sink with mixer tap and a twin gas burner cooktop, while other external features included a single underbody water tank, roof rack, spare tyre and a 200W solar panel.

Inside the cosy interior, there's a north-south double bed with coil spring mattress, along with some floorspace, a benchtop and cupboards, cloth wall pouches, two opening windows and a roof hatch.

The plated Tare was 1160kg, with an ATM of 1485kg, and an empty ball mass of 114kg.

Fitted with optional extras including a gas hot water system, external shower and Projecta PM235 battery system upgrade, the show camper had a tow-away advertised price of $40,940.

Another fresh Jayco release at the Geelong show was a new entry-level 15ft Basestation Lite toy hauler, that looks ideal for a 'dirty' long week-end away with a mate.

The stubby two-berth, tandem axle, light grey display van featured the usual tail-gate ramp and star-gazing platform, along with an internal rear 'garage' with two wall-mounted beds or lounges that fold up to provide space for the motorised or watersport toys.

The new Basestation Lite also comes with a large fold-up portable table, while the front section incorporates a combination shower toilet and a kitchenette with a sink with mixer and filtered taps, a gas cooktop and a large upright fridge freezer.

Fixed internal storage extends to side- and front overhead cupboards and drawers, with a rooftop air conditioner, roof hatch, side windows, front toolbox, twin gas bottles, DO-35 coupling and J-Tech suspension also part of the package.

The Jayco BaseStation Lite 15.47-2 on display had show special pricing of $66,950.

Meanwhile, Jayco is also boosting its entry-level Starcraft caravan range with a new 15ft Starcraft Bush Pack hardtop couple's variant.

The display van in Geelong was advertised with show-special pricing of $52,950, and included standard features like a powered awning, 150L three-way fridge-freezer, rooftop air-conditioner, TV antenna and Lippert Sway Command. An optional stereo was also fitted.

The interior layout includes twin single beds and twin lounge seats with a swivel table, together with a combination shower toilet and a kitchenette with sink and mixer tap, and a gas cooktop with grille.

Jayco is expected to roll out more MY25 models and new variants at the 2025 Victorian Caravan Supershow at the Melbourne Showgrounds (Feb 19-23).
