A new Jayco retail outlet is opening up in Melbourne's so-called new "caravan capital", in the fast-growing outer south-eastern suburbs.
The news comes after another long-standing Melbourne Jayco dealer is shutting its gates for the last time later this month, with Bayswater Jayco announcing that it is 'rebranding' as Jayco Melbourne, and relocating to a new site in the Melbourne outer south-eastern suburb of Hallam.
The new Jayco Melbourne outlet is around a 10km drive from the Jayco factory in Dandenong where thousands of RVs are built every year.

Situated at 140 Canterbury Rd, Bayswater in Melbourne's outer-east, Bayswater Jayco has been a go-to for caravan buyers in the area for decades, and is part of an RV 'shopping strip' which includes dealers for Coronet Caravans and Sunliner motorhomes.
Another well-known Melbourne Jayco dealer, Page Bros RV, also shut its gates in late December, after close to 50 years of operation.
Jayco's other Victorian dealers are in well populated regional areas, including Geelong, Bendigo and Ballarat.

The new Jayco Melbourne site, at 257 Princes Hwy Hallam, is on a busy thoroughfare and features large indoor and outdoor display areas. It was previously home to car dealers including Berwick Jeep.
Hallam is part of the Casey Council, which Caravan Industry Victoria has identified as the fastest growing 'caravan hub' in the state.
According to CIV data, close to two per cent of Casey residents are caravan owners, while in nearby Cardinia Shire, which includes another fast-growing caravan hub in Pakenham, more than four per cent of residents own a caravan.

Melbourne's booming southeast corridor has seen an influx of new caravan dealers and RV businesses in recent years, including the JB Group's first RV supercentre in Pakenham.
“We’ve had about 10 different retailers open up and move into that area because they’ve seen the growth,” CIV CEO Daniel Sahlbery told the Herald Sun. “It’s a key hotspot that we want to be in.”
The CIV ran its newest industry show at the Cranbourne Racecourse in May, which attracted around 10,000 people over three days. Cranbourne is also part of the City of Casey and boasts around 3000 caravan owners.

Bayswater Jayco is running a moving out sale, from June 15-27, at its Bayswater address, with deals on ex-demo items and various accessories. Further details on the Jayco Melbourne Facebook page.
