Australia’s best value campervan?

New 20ft Jayco Conquest undercuts rivals by $20,000

Already laying claim to some of the cheapest Australia-built camper trailers and caravans in the country, Jayco can now boast one of the most competitively priced campervans with the release of a new Renault Master long wheelbase campervan from $79,990.

The new Renault Conquest undercuts Jayco’s cheapest Mercedes and Fiat-based LWB campers by around $25,000, as well as rivals like Adria's Twin 600 SP.

Jayco says the new 20ft 8in (6.2m long) Renault Conquest is the “ideal campervan for solo trailblazers or free spirited duos, with the three seats in the vehicle cabin”.

It’s the second 'super-cheap' motorized RV from Jayco based on the more affordable rear-drive Renault Master platform, with Jayco already offering a cut-price 20ft Renault cab-chassis motorhome from just $104,990.

The new Jayco camper even undercuts the LDV-based, Chinese built motorhome from Goldstar, with probably its closest rival the very similar sized and specced, LDV van-based Unicamper UCHI from Melbourne's Sunliner, which is currently being advertised for $79,990.

With a passenger-side sliding entry door to the living area as well as two rear barn doors, the Renault Conquest campervan features a compact but well-equipped floorplan including a combination shower/toilet, kitchen gallery and rear dinette/lounge that converts to a double bed.

Standard features include a 3.7m Fiamma awning, 24in LED TV/DVD and stereo with      rooftop antenna, instant hot water unit, Dometic Harrier rooftop air conditioner, 100Ah battery with battery manager and 120watt rooftop solar panel, fridge, microwave, two burner cooktop, sink with mixer tap, and fresh and grey water tanks.

Jayco hasn't supplied Tare or GVM weights but says the new Renault Conquest offers a payload of 660kg and has a 2500kg tow rating.

Available in Jayco dealerships from late October, the campervan is powered by a 2.3-litre turbo-diesel engine fed by a 100 litre fuel tank.

The new entry-level Conquest campervan is among four new models being released by Jayco at the Melbourne Leisurefest show from October 3-6, including a new 16ft CrossTrak hybrid camper from $40,990, a new entry-level Lark wind-up camper trailer from $19,990,, and a sharply priced new 19ft Starcraft caravan from $46,490.
