Snowy River might be a latecomer to the fast-growing hybrid market but it's aiming to outdo a few competitors with its first hybrid pop-top caravan range, which features a "game-changing" all-new independent coil suspension set-up designed to enhance off-road towing.
The new SR-Xplore in-house built suspension will be a standard fit across Snowy River Caravans' all-new six-variant SRH Hybrid range which will make its public debut at the Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow (February 19-23).
"Leveraging cutting-edge geometry and featuring symmetrical heavy-duty curved lateral arms, (SR-Xplore) creates a new industry standard, offering unmatched stability, vibration dampening, wheel travel, control, and durability," the big-selling international RV brand claimed.
Incorporating lateral curved arms manufactured from high-grade structural steel tube, along with locally-sourced Pedders TrakRyder Foamcell shock absorbers and Pedders springs, the SR-Xplore suspension is said to deliver a lower centre of gravity and reduce body roll compared to traditional trailing arm suspensions, when travelling on uneven and undulating surfaces.
The new off-road suspension will eventually be available on tandem- as well as single axle variants, and offers full camber and toe adjustment to enable correct wheel alignment under different loads.
Snowy River said its new SR-Xplore set-up delivers "unrivalled vibration dampening and wheel travel" and has been "rigorously tested to ensure performance in the most hostile environments".
"This is arguably the best suspension system on the market," the big-selling caravan and pop-top manufacturer claimed on its website. "This innovation ensures superior control while maintaining a higher roll centre reducing the moment arm, which is critical for off-road stability without compromising ride comfort."
Shaping up as Snowy River's most off-road capable model to date, the new SRH Hybrid pop-top range will be available in body lengths from 13ft to 16ft, and with both couple and family-friendly layouts that include internal ensuites.
Pricing is set to start from $58,990 tow-away, and all SRH Hybrid models will come loaded up with a six-inch gooseneck chassis, electric roof and awning, outside shower, 400Ah lithium battery system with 600W solar panels, a touchscreen control panel, rooftop air conditioner, and an L-shaped external kitchen, to name a few of the standard features.
