Another safety recall for Snowy River caravans

Snowy River Caravans has issued a product safety recall affecting certain SRH hybrid models fitted with the SR-Xplore suspension system.

The big-selling RV brand says a manufacturing issue affecting the weld on the suspension arms means the weld may not have sufficient strength and could crack when travelling over rough, uneven or unsealed roads, which could result in a loss of control of the caravan and increased risk of accident, injury or death.

A total of 511 caravans are affected by the recall, across selected 2025–2026 SRH models. Models include SRH13, SRH14, SRH15, SRH15F, SRH16, and SRH16F. A full list of VIN numbers of affected caravans can be found here.

Affected owners are being contacted directly, and inspection, assessment and replacement of the suspension arms will be carried out free of charge.

After commencing on September 14, Snowy River plans to complete all rectification work within eight weeks from this date.

Owners can also do a caravan chassis check and access recall information via the Snowy River Caravans website, or by calling 1800 485 031.

"For owners whose caravans are subject to this recall, we will do utmost to have your caravans rectified as soon as possible so you can get back on the road with confidence," the company said.

"No injuries or deaths have been reported to date, but immediate action is required to prevent incident."

Snowy recommends that until a recalled caravan has been inspected at a dealership, avoid towing on rough, uneven or unsealed roads. If that's unavoidable a reduction in speed and lower tyre pressures may be necessary.

It's the second product safety alert issued by Regent RV (which produces Snowy River caravans) in the space of a few weeks, after around 3500 Snowy River and NewGen caravans were recalled in mid-August due to the discovery of a manufacturing defect in a gas pressure regulator.
