Snowy River backs more worthy causes
Big importer provides long-distance support RVs for mental health outreach service and cross-country charity runIt was only last year that Snowy River Caravans helped out with some luxury roadside accommodation for ultra-marathoner Alex Barbas' 7800km charity run across Australia.
Now one of Australia's biggest-selling RV brands is hitching a ride and partnering up with two other worthy causes: the LIVIN mental health youth outreach program, and the latest 'Frenchman on the Run' cross-country charity run.
Snowy River says it's providing both an SRV19 campervan and SRC22F touring caravan as support vehicles for endurance athlete Eddie Tchigique and his crew during a gruelling 3900km run across Australia for Redkite.
The Adelaide-based endurance athlete and father of two, known as “The Frenchman”, heads off from Perth's Cottesloe Beach on August 9, aiming to get to Sydney's Bondi Beach on the other side of the country in just 38 days.
An experienced ultra marathoner, Eddie will attempt to cover more than 100km each day, while aiming to raise $1 million for Redkite and challenge the current transcontinental running record.
He chose to support Redkite after speaking with a family affected by childhood cancer and hearing firsthand how the organisation had supported them through their experience.
'It ain't weak to speak'
Snowy River is also providing LIVIN CEO Casey Lyons with a caravan for 12 months, as he travels throughout Australia delivering mental health and suicide prevention workshops and encouraging more young Australians to speak openly about how they're feeling.
Casey said the Snowy 'van would allow the organisation to reach more Aussie youth in more remote communities, and spread its key message 'It ain't weak to speak'. The tow vehicle is being supplied by the Aspley Mazda dealership in Brisbane.
“This partnership gives us the ability to get out on the road and take LIVIN’s message directly to people who may not otherwise have access to these conversations,” Casey said.
