Big-selling budget RV brand MDC will unveil three new sharply-priced MKIII off-grid caravans and hybrids at the 2024 Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo in NSW in early February.
After releasing details of its latest and greatest new MKIII range in late-2023, production versions of the new 2024 16ft and 19ft MKIII ACPLUS off-road caravans will break cover in Newcastle; both packing more off-grid lithium battery and solar power and European appliances than before, for their $80K-$100K pricing.
MDC says its new range-topping XT19HRT full size caravan has been subject to "months of rigorous real-life testing in diverse environments, from ocean beaches to the Simpson Desert".
Designed for extended off-grid camping, the new 19ft range-topper comes standard with 1.2kW rooftop solar, a 400Ah lithium battery pack and a 3kW inverter, along with 160 litres fresh water storage and an 80 litre grey water tank.
"With built-in auto transfer between the DC battery and AC shore power, off-grid power management is a breeze thanks to the seamless connectivity of the Projecta eco-system which allows users to monitor and manage the power system through dedicated apps on iPhone and Android devices," the Brisbane-based company said in a media statement.
"These unparalleled off-grid capabilities at a market-leading price point set the XT19HRT apart from the competition."
The new XT19HRT van also gets the latest MKIII new-look exterior including an external service ladder to access the roof, along with a newly styled interior including oak timber-style laminated bench and countertop finishes, gloss grey cabinetry, black sinks and tapware, and wireless phone charging pads.
The MKIII 19ft van also comes jam-packed with appliances and new features including a front load washing machine, air conditioner, diesel heater, external slide-out kitchen and internal kitchenette with a 175 litre fridge/freezer, gas stove, microwave, and induction cooktop.
Priced from $99,990, the 2950kg Tare/3500kg ATM off-road caravan also comes standard with a Cruisemaster DO-35 coupling, ARK XO-750 jockey wheel, 16in alloy wheels and mud tyres, and independent coil spring suspension with twin shocks per wheel.
MDC will also have two new single axle, three berth 16ft hybrids -- the XT16HR Island MKIII and XT16HR East West MKIII -- on display for the first time at the Newcastle Expo.
Both 3000kg ATM-rated 16ft off-road caravans are priced from $84,990 and feature a separate shower and toilet, along with 700W rooftop solar, a 600Ah lithium battery pack, 2000W inverter and twin 80 litre fresh water tanks, plus a grey tank.
The new compact off-roaders also get many of the appliances and new features of the bigger 19ft MKIII model including twin wireless benchtop phone chargers, an AutoTerm 2kW diesel heater, Truma Aventa rooftop air conditioner and a 2.5kg wall mounted washing machine.
"We believe that these new additions to our caravan line-up represent a significant leap forward in terms of innovation, design, and functionality," MDC said.
