Big selling imported brand MDC is launching its biggest caravan to date at the 2024 Melbourne Caravan & Camping Leisurefest at Sandown Racecourse (October 3-6).
The new Forte SR22 CLUB is the eighth and largest model in MDC’s recently released on-road caravan range and priced from $79,990, is "an excellent choice for those seeking
a quality on-road caravan at an affordable price," MDC said.
Designed to be towed by most 4WD wagons and dual-cab utes, the Forte SR22 CLUB couple's van weighs approximately 2700kg (Tare) and has an ATM rating of 3200kg.
It's the first time MDC has offered a layout with doors separating the lounge area and kitchen, bathroom, shower, and bedroom. The spacious couple's layout includes a central ensuite with separate shower and toilet with vanity and sink, plus a master bedroom up front with walkaround queen bed, and a club lounge/dinette and dual-side kitchen towards the rear. The lounge also converts into another bed, to accommodate an extra guest.
“This new floorplan marks a significant addition to MDC's lineup, with the Forte SR22 CLUB featuring high-quality standard inclusions and innovative features that are rarely found in this segment of the market,” MDC Managing Director Vaughan Hindley said.
The new 22ft touring van rides on a hot-dipped galvanised chassis with independent trailing arm suspension and a 50mm ball coupling, and an aluminium framed body, and is backed by a five-year structural/chassis and drawbar warranty.
The standard off-grid power set-up includes 350W rooftop solar, a Projecta 1600W pure sine wave inverter, and a 200Ah lithium battery, while standard appliances include a 175L compressor fridge/freezer, oven-hob combination cooktop, microwave, top-loader washing machine, 12V fans, a rooftop air conditioner and an instant hot water unit.
The van also comes with a roll-out awning and two 9kg gas bottles, and can carry 160L fresh water and 80L grey water in three tanks.
