Snowy River has already grabbed a big slice of the budget-friendly caravan market in Australia, and now the fast-growing Australasian RV brand is gunning for a similarly large chunk of the motorised RV market with the introduction of its first campervan models, based on LDV Deliver 9 and Ford Transit delivery vans and priced very competitively from under $100,000.
Unveiled at the 2025 Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow, the new Snowy River campervan range starts at just $99,000 for the 19ft LDV Deliver 9-based SRV19 model, with the 22ft Ford Transit-based SRV22 model priced from $119,000, although these were advertised as 'show special introductory' offers.
For that, both campervans come fitted with a 3.5m wide roll-out awning, 4.5kg gas bottle, rooftop air conditioner, two 100Ah lithium batteries and 200W rooftop solar, a 24in Smart TV, stereo system, gas/electric hot water, outside shower and leather upholstery, among other standard features.
Both high-roof models also get rear barn doors and a sliding side door, along with a powered entry step and a roof hatch.
Both layouts include a combination shower/toilet and a lounge/bed conversion at the rear, plus a kitchenette with two-burner gas cooker and sink, rangehood, microwave, and either a 75L or 150L fridge. The larger SRV22 model also gets dinette seating up front.
Both rear-wheel drive, the Snowy River SRV19 measures 5.94m long and is powered by a 108kW/375Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. The SRV22 measures 6.7m long and is powered by a 121kW/390Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel with a 10-speed automatic.
The Snowy River SRV19 gets 94L fresh and 64L grey water tanks, compared to the SRV22's 130L (fresh) and 80L (grey) tanks.
Now reputedly Australia's biggest selling caravan brand behind Jayco, Snowy River is entering new RV segments at a rapid rate, releasing new touring pop-tops, off-road hybrids and now on-road campervans, all in the space of a few months.
Snowy River Caravans CEO Andrew Crank told caravancampingsales that the two new campervans were just the beginning for Snowy's new motorised RV range, with larger motorhomes also in the planning.
Meanwhile, Snowy River also debuted its new off-road Hybrid pop-top range at the show, including showing off its new "game-changing" in-house-built SR-Xplore suspension on a bare rolling chassis perched on a mound of Outback-style red dirt and rocks trucked in specially for the event.
Crank also shed some light on the design inspiration for the new Snowy River off-road suspension, which he said is very similar to Track Trailer's proven MC2 asymmetrical-link suspension that was originally designed for military applications and has under-pinned the tough-as-nails Tvan camper and other Melbourne-built Track products over the past 25 years.
In other news, the Snowy River local boss also said that the Regent brand is being 'rested' for 2025, before an all-new Regent caravan model is released in about a year's time. As an alternative to the sleek composite Regent Cruiser introduced in 2021, Snowy River is now offering a similar-style, four-model SRL Luxury Range, priced from $83,990 tow-away, with a few on display at the Victorian Supershow.
