Triple treat for Suncamper Motorhomes

Longstanding Sydney specialist picks up three trophies at annual NSW Awards of Excellence night

One of Australia's oldest RV builders has achieved a 'clean sweep' at this year's CCIA NSW Awards of Excellence.

Sydney's Suncamper picked up the main trophy in all three categories it was a finalist in at the annual state industry celebration: NSW Manufacturer of the Year, Outstanding Young Achiever (Trade), and Team of the Year (Trade).

The news comes after the 49-year-old motorhome and campervan specialist was beaten to the 'Best Manufacturer' Gold award at the 2025 CCIA NSW night of nights, by Sydney's Avida.

Picking up the 'Silver' award in the NSW Manufacturer of the Year category this year was Frontline Camper Conversions, while other prominent NSW-based RV manufacturers including Millard Caravans, Avida and Albury-based Mountain Trail RV didn't make the list of finalists.

'Good as it gets'

Suncamper boss Cameron Harrison said it was the "proudest night in the history of this company", which was purchased by his father Keith in 1982.

"For a family-owned manufacturer that has been building motorhomes in the same corner of Sydney for over 45 years, being honoured like this by your own industry is about as good as it gets," Harrison said.

"Every Suncamper is designed, engineered, and hand built at our Thornleigh factory, then delivered factory direct to customers around the country. No middle man, no imported shell, no shortcuts hidden behind a wall panel. That has been the way we have done it for over 45 years, and it is what this award recognises."

For Suncamper's Head of Marketing, Connor Jones, it's the second time he's won the Outstanding Young Achiever award (the first was in 2023).

As well as launching three new Suncamper-related websites over the past 12 months, Jones led the full launch campaign for Suncamper's latest Ford Ranger Super Duty-based Conqueror 3.0 which debuted at this year's Sydney Supershow with a driveaway price in excess of $300K.

While Marcos, Jon, Dylan, Ray, and Mitch from Suncamper's in-house cabinetry department were on hand to pick up the Trade Team of the Year trophy.

"The cabinetry team is the heartbeat of the Thornleigh (factory) floor... Every other trade works around cabinetry, and cabinetry works around every other trade. When they get it right, nobody notices. When they get it wrong, everybody does," Harrison said.
