Fledgling Melbourne caravan manufacturer My Dream RV has released a new variant in its growing range of stylish luxury touring and semi-off road caravans.
In response to customer feedback, the latest Dream X model retains the distinctive curved front end design of other My Dream models, but gets a flatter lower front section to allow for more integrated external storage options as well as a fresh interior bedhead design.
Currently on display at My Dream RV's new Melbourne outlet, Rose RV, the flatter, lower front on the new 21ft Dream X couple's van allows for the addition of a second, more vertical tunnel boot in front of the existing tunnel boot, that's suitable for storing longer items like fishing rods, pool noodles, etc.
Alternatively, buyers can opt for a single, larger tunnel boot, while there's also the option of fitting a smaller, squarer checker plate toolbox on the drawbar for additional storage.
While inside, extra room in the wall space behind the queen bed allows for a new ledge and bedhead design, which might be used for storing books, tablets, phones, etc.
"If you want to you can recess it even further, or even fit a longer bed if the buyer wants, " explained My Dream RV General Manager Don Rafiq.
"The beauty of this design is it allows even more space (up front) than any other standard van (on the market)," he said.
"Some people love the original Dream Catcher shape, some people don't, so the new Dream X gives people the option for a different look if they prefer."
The new Dream X model also benefits from the latest MY2024 interior finishes that help deliver a more upmarket feel, including new stitched and patterned leatherette upholstery and new textured and weathered timber-look laminated benchtops.
Priced at RRP$96,990, the 2570kg Tare/3300kg ATM, 21ft Dream X tandem axle ensuite model on display was fitted with a 50mm ball coupling, independent trailing arm coil suspension, electronic sway control, a 95L fresh water tank plus a grey water tank, two 9kg gas bottles and a gas bayonet, a 140Ah lithium battery with 420W rooftop solar and BMPro battery manager, a large two-door, three way fridge, an instant hot water unit, reversing camera, a wall-mounted washing machine and an audio system and 24in Smart TV, among other features.
The Dream X will also be available in a variety of other layouts and specifications and like other My Dream RV models, can be customised with a range of options available including a full electric fit-out, aluminium frame and composite roof construction, as well as interior changes like a full width king bed.
"It doesn't matter what you want we can cater to your needs," he said. "And if you don't like this layout we can option whatever you'd like. The options are endless."
The latest Dream X model made its public debut at the Ballarat Outdoor Living and Caravan Expo in early-April, while the My Dream RV range will also be on display at the NSW Caravan Supershow through its Sydney dealer, Everything RV.
Meanwhile, the unique design and novel build approach adopted by the 18-month old Melbourne caravan manufacturer has been recognised at APAC Insider's 2024 Australian Enterprise Awards, where My Dream RV was presented with the Most Innovative Luxury RV Manufacturer award.
