Lotus caravan buyers can now stand out even more in the off-road crowd, with the release of an exclusive new 'Sand Taupe' exterior colour option across the Melbourne-built caravan range.
Similar to the Desert Storm-like exterior paintwork available on the LandCruiser 70 Series, the new Sand Taupe exterior option is one of 10 colours now available across the tough-looking Lotus range, which includes the popular 'Army Green'.
Lotus buyers are able to choose 'Sand Taupe' as a no-cost option on all four sides of the 'van, to complement different-colour sticker kits and lower-body checker plate options also available (check out the build-your-own caravan configurator on Lotus' website to view all the different colour combinations available).
The new colour is integral to the German-made, 3mm thick Alucobond smooth composite panels used on the outside of all timber-framed Lotus caravans, which feature a double-sided marine-grade finish and fire-resistant plastic core to make them as tough as they look.
"We've been using this premium aluminium composite panelling across our range since 2015 and you could say it's been proven in battle, as many of our customers like to take our vans into Australia's harshest and most unforgiving regions," Lotus Caravans' Goce Bumbaroski said.
While already adopted by some of Australia's top-shelf camper trailer and off-road caravan manufacturers, it's believed the first time the sandy camo colour, common on Australian Army vehicles and tough Toyota workhorses, has been available on a smooth Alucabond-clad caravan.
"While we're first to the caravan market, the colour itself is synonomous with the Outback landscape, sandy beaches and earthy tones that our customers seek out when travelling in their Lotus vans," he said.
The military-style Sand Taupe colour is available right across the Lotus range, including the full off-road Trooper, rough-road Freelander, family-friendly Off Grid, and Transformer, Hollywood and Crystal River on-road and slide-out models.
It's the latest update to the 2021-model Lotus range, following the standard fitment earlier this year of new premium lithium battery systems incorporating Enerdrive and Redarc components, new BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres and Dometic's DRS dust reduction system across some of its models.
