It's back!
After dropping its Freelander off-roader with the launch of a more upmarket 2026 'hardcore' range late last year, Melbourne manufacturer Lotus has re-introduced the more affordable model to its range.

The move means buyers now have a more wallet-friendly and possibly lighter, easier towing entry point to the Lotus range, with the latest Freelander coming in about $35,000 less than the previously cheapest Lotus off-road model, and will be available with both 3500kg and 4000-4500kg ATM ratings.
Priced from $144,500, the MY26 Lotus Freelander is available in 10 different couple and family layouts ranging from 18ft 9in to 24ft, and includes many of the Lotus luxuries from the more upmarket models including rainfall benchtops, Newline PU leather upholstery, a 216L fridge/freezer and induction cooktop.

The MY26 Freelander also comes standard with a Projecta 600Ah lithium battery system incorporating a 3000W inverter, 180amp charger and 1050W rooftop solar, plus Cruisemaster's XT Air Advantage L3 manual airbag suspension, 12in drum brakes and Tracmax mud tyres on 17in Compression Black Op wheels.

The Freelander is built using Lotus' latest AL+ aluminium frame construction, on its exclusive 'enviro painted' Gen 2 chassis, and also comes with an 8in jockey wheel and either a DO-35 or DO-45 coupling.
Four LC Customs external add-ons are also included as standard.

"You shared, and we listened," the 22-year old Melbourne off-road caravan pioneer said in a promotional email.
"The all-new Freelander is feature-packed with a bucket-load of power, signature Lotus Caravans' durability, and premium interiors - positioned as your new gateway to adventure."
Lotus says the new Freelander will be rolling into dealers from this month.
