Let's face it, quite a few Australian caravan manufacturer websites leave a lot to be desired: dodgy or insufficient photos, rambling text, a lack of details and outdated or incorrect information, and just missing the basic stuff like a full list of standard and optional features for individual models, along with specific pricing and weights.
The volume sellers like Jayco and Snowy River generally do it best, while there are a few outliers, like Queensland's Patriot Campers whose online configurators let you know exactly what you're up for before ever having to deal with an over-zealous salesperson.

But now big Melbourne RV builder JB Caravans is vying for the unofficial award of 'Australia's best caravan manufacturer website' with a new vibrant website with an interactive design that it says provides "a new digital experience built around the trip, not just the product range".
Now live, the fancy new JB website according to the 18 year old manufacturer, "brings a 24/7 AI concierge, a combined off-grid and towing planner, and every model’s key weights shown up front".

Potential buyers plug in the type of trips they're planning (semi off-road, full off-road, hybrid or motorhome), how much they plan to carry, and how they plan to camp as a way of determining important pre-trip stuff like how much water or power they might actually need when out there.
There's also the option to toggle JB factory upgrades, such as extra solar, a bigger battery or a larger water tank, to see how it changes the numbers.
At the end of the process a '24/7 AI concierge' points consumers to a JB model suited to their terrain, tow vehicle and budget.

With a big factory in Campbellfield Victoria, JB offers a wide range of hybrids, touring and off-road caravans, including the latest $160K-plus Gator X LE, as well as motorhomes, through its 15 dealers in Australia and New Zealand.
The cheapest JB model is the $98,500 Dirt Roader caravan, topping out at the $236,500 JB Touring motorhome.
“We didn’t just rebuild a website. We rethought how someone comes to us," explained JB Group CEO Chris Polites.
"Buying an off-road caravan is a big, considered decision, and people were having to guess at the hard parts.
"We’ve built an experience that starts with where you want to go and puts the real numbers in front of you, so you can do the homework in your own time and talk it through with our team when you’re ready.”
