The first Venture Series model, a 20ft 6in (internal body length) ZV-20.6, is currently under construction at Zone’s Coolum Beach factory, and will be the star attraction at a public open day at Zone’s headquarters in early-September. According to Zone RV co-owner David Biggar, the new Venture series “is the first touring and semi off-road caravan built like an off-road caravan”.
“We wanted to create a touring caravan that doesn’t compromise on strength, durability and quality,” he said.
“The Venture Series is designed for tarmac and country road travel, though we’ve built it to withstand the test of time. It’s 100 per cent timber-less, as with all Zone RV caravans, hail resistant, patch repairable, and dust and water proof.”
Priced from $85,900, or $17,000 less than the cheapest model in Zone’s higher specced off-road range, the Venture Series will also be available in 18ft 6in and 21ft 6in internal body lengths.
All are tandem axle, and have similar layouts comprising a front queen bed, central dinette and kitchen areas and full width rear ensuite.
Zone is hoping to keep Tare weights of the timberless vans under two tonnes, and payloads up to 1000kg will be available.
All are equipped with Vehicle Components CRS independent coil suspension and D035 hitch, and 17-inch highway tyres.
Other standard features include a 190 litre AES fridge/freezer, large external toolbox, twin 9kg gas bottles, 100L fresh water and 100L grey water storage, 120Ah AGM battery, 100W solar panels, air-conditioning, Fusion entertainment system and digital TV.
The new models will also feature Zone RV’s latest “2.0 refined chassis and cabinetry”.
