Boasting a 6.88m internal length, Zone says the ZF-22.6 is designed for families who want extra space when travelling off-road. Along with a well-equipped kitchen, ensuite and L-shaped dinette, it comes standard with a walk-around, front queen bed and double bunk bed, with a three-bunk option available.
Like other Zone caravans
, the new family model features a urethane-coated Duragal chassis and Zone’s unique, timber-free construction including ‘closed cell’ composite body and aluminium/composite internal cabinetry. Designed for off-road, off-the-grid travel, it comes standard with Cruisemaster XT coil suspension, 12in electric brakes, 200 litre fresh water and 100 litre grey water storage, and a two 120Ah AGM battery package including 300W solar panels.
Other standard features include a 190 litre compressor fridge, 2kg front load washing machine, gas/240V hot water system, 24in TV, Bluetooth sound system, and rooftop air-conditioner.
In standard trim the van has a Tare weight of 2700kg, ball weight of 185kg and 3500kg ATM.
Pricing starts at $113,900 but the first built-to-order ZF 22.6 (pictured) had a sticker price of $122,500, thanks to a number of options fitted including Cruisemaster ATX airbag suspension with manual levelling ($5400), a 500mm extended drawbar with Thule bike carrier ($1080), and Vansat Bluestar satellite TV system with VAST Decoder ($4950).
In other Zone RV news, the company also recently introduced a new semi off-road ‘Adventurer’ caravan range for “those that don't intend on travelling to fully remote areas and taking on Australia's harshest terrain”, according to Zone. Available in three body lengths, they feature a “different chassis and suspension than the off-road models, creating a lighter and lower load”.
Zone has also added to an already extensive list of high-tech standard and optional equipment available across the range, with a new Cel-Fi 4G signal cell booster and hinged whip antenna upgrade available for $1750.
“Zone RV is the only caravan manufacturer offering this optional upgrade, it can double cell phone reception in remote areas and it's the only legal system available in market,” Zone RV spokesperson Denise Missen said.
