Zone RV sets up shop in Melbourne

Premium Queensland-built Zone off-grid caravans now available from new Victorian dealer, Outbound RVs

Six months after appointing its first NSW dealer, cutting-edge Queensland caravan manufacturer Zone RV has opened its first retail outlet in Victoria.

The new Zone dealer Outbound RVs is located at 2/58 Lara Way, Campbellfield, and is also the Melbourne retail outlet for boutique luxury caravan manufacturer Wonderland RV.

Award-winning Zone Expedition is on display at new Melbourne dealer

Currently on display at Outbound RVs is the latest 19ft 9in Expedition hybrid pop-top, along with a 19ft Peregrine and 21ft Sojourn from Zone's tandem-axle off-road caravan range. All three were transported down from Brisbane after being displayed at the 2024 Queensland Caravan Supershow in early June.

To mark the occasion, Zone RV is running an Open Day event at Outback RVs on June 21-22, where visitors will get the chance to meet members of the Zone RV team, and enjoy some tasty treats including wood-fired pizzas and gourmet pies.

Meanwhile, Zone RV announced details of its updated 2025 Sojourn Summit range-topper at the Queensland Supershow. Priced from $267,000, the 3190kg Tare/4200kg ATM, 23ft off-grid caravan will continue with the innovative carbon fibre construction first seen around six years ago, but with some added new features like an expanded outdoor kitchen with extra storage and a Sizzler Max BBQ and slide.

Upping the off-grid camping capability of the 2025 Sojourn Summit model is a 1200Ah Redarc lithium battery system fed by 1560W rooftop solar and together with the latest Redarc Manager Alpha, along with 400 litres' fresh water storage and a 100 litre grey water tank.

The upgraded Summit also boasts lighter more advanced composite furniture borrowed from the yachting industry, and incorporates the integrated front toolbox design from the Expedition to allow for more external storage space. There's also a redesigned bedroom layout with new drawer system and more upmarket appliances including a diesel fired oven.

Meanwhile, Zone's new Expedition hybrid now starts at $158,000, up from its launch price of $139,000, while its starting Tare weight has also risen by close to 200kg, to 2464kg. The 2619kg Tare, 19ft Peregine kicks off at $150,000 while the cheapest 2696kg Tare, 21ft Soujourn can now be had for $158,000. You'll pay an extra $1500 for delivery to the new Melbourne dealer, compared to an extra $1000 to the NSW retailer.

Business was relatively brisk at the Zone RV stand at the 2024 Queensland Supershow, with Zone RV CEO Adrian Toft reporting that the fast-growing Sunshine Coast manufacturer which is celebrating its 10th year of operation in 2024, signed up six orders alone on Day 1 of the show.

The waiting time for a new Expedition now sits at around nine months, while the Peregrine and Sojourn order bank currently only stretches out around four months, according to Zone's online ordering system.
