Zone RV appoints first non-factory dealer

Queensland's Zone RV has achieved many industry 'firsts' over the past decade: it's brought hi-tech composite manufacturing from the yacht building to the RV industry; introduced weight-saving carbon fibre body 'skins; taken caravan production to a new level with Australia's largest 3D printer, and offered an industry-first virtual reality sales experience.

Zone RV is also the first Queensland caravan manufacturer to win the Best New RV trophy in the annual caravancampingsales Innovation Awards, and also produces some of the lightest, strongest ute canopies on the market.

Now the Sunshine Coast manufacturer of premium off-road caravans and hybrid pop-tops has appointed its first dealer; Sydney-based Off Grid Outfitters located on a 3000m2 site in the industrial suburb of Smeaton Grange.

Off Grid Outfitters' co-owner Ryan Gudiksen said Zone's range of high-end composite caravans perfectly complements the other top-end Australian RV brands on display at the Sydney showroom, including Queensland's Patriot and Lifestyle Campers, and the Melbourne-based Wonderland RV's range of luxury caravans.

"When I look around at the off-road caravan marketplace Zone RV, right from its launch, has been building the sort of trailers the team and I want to be travelling across Australia with," Gudiksen said.

"We're thrilled to have them under our roof and can't wait to showcase them to our customers for travelling further, for longer and in more comfort than ever before."

Zone RV CEO Adrian Toft said appointing Off Grid as Zone RV's first non-factory retail outlet and its exclusive NSW dealer, was a no-brainer as the outdoor adventure retail specialists were a 'natural fit' for Zone RV products.

"We've been working with Off Grid Outfitters for some time and are excited to launch our first dealership with the team in Sydney," Toft said.

"They have a genuine passion for the products and off-road travel (and) a very strong reputation in the industry for their customer service, honest advice and quality products."

Off Grid Outfitters was founded in Sydney in 2017 by Ryan and Alison Gudiksen; born from their passion for camping and touring and the frustrations of searching for a suitable off-road camper for a Cape York trip.

What began as just Ryan, a phone, one camper and a small factory now employs 11 staff working across the retail as well as servicing and repair departments. As well as the dealership, Off Grid's Sydney site boasts its own off-road-specific caravan repair and modification centre.

Currently on display at the Sydney showroom is a 21ft Zone Sojourn off-road caravan and the new Expedition hybrid pop-top, as well as Zone's lightweight Mode 4x4 canopies including one mounted on an 'Off Grid' Jeep Gladiator.
