Suspension specialist Pedders has launched a new tow load and assessment service for people concerned about the effects of caravan and tow vehicle weights on vehicle handling and safety.
Pedders says the “world first service” will give anyone who tows a caravan, boat trailer or horse float a better understanding of their vehicles’ loading capacity now and in the future.
The assessment includes Pedders existing Brake, Steering and Suspension Check, which normally costs $28 and includes an undercar inspection, shock absorber test, brake pad and rotor inspection plus a no-obligation analysis and written report.
The other part of the assessment involves a new Weight Matrix software program, in which the front and rear of the vehicle is weighed and various scenarios inputted into the program to determine how weight from accessories, towing and other loads can affect safety and performance.
The software provides data on a number of factors including payload and capacity, Weight Balance Shift, and Estimated Additional Braking Distance. At the end, a Pedders expert will discuss the assessment and provide advice and recommend solutions.
The new tow load and assessment service costs $75 and is available at participating Pedders outlets. For further details click here.
