World-first portable heating and cooling appliances go on sale

Innovative EcoFlow WAVE 2 portable air-conditioner and GLACIER 3-in-1 fridge and ice-maker now available in Australia

Portable power solutions specialist EcoFlow has released two new cutting-edge 'off-grid' heating and cooling appliances on the Australian market, designed for use in a range of vehicles including trucks, cars, boats and RVs, as well as at home and while taking part in other outdoor pursuits like tent camping.

Described as the world's "fastest heating and cooling portable air-conditioner", the new WAVE 2 portable air-con unit boasts powerful 5100 BTU cooling as well as 6100 BTU heating, for a quick and relatively quiet climate-control solution when sheltering in compact, confined spaces and away from mains power.

New EcoFlow WAVE 2 can be set up pretty much anywhere you camp

"EcoFlow WAVE 2 is not only the first portable air conditioner to offer both heating and cooling functions, but it also provides the fastest temperature regulation of any product of its kind," the company says.

EcoFlow says the WAVE 2 is capable of heating an area of 10m2 from 20°C to 30°C in five minutes, while the unit can cool a similar space from 30°C to 20°C in the same amount of time.

Significantly smaller than its predecessor and weighing in at 14.5kg, the installation-free WAVE 2 delivers up to eight hours of runtime with the removable 1159Wh optional add-on battery. EcoFlow says it produces as little as 44dB of noise in Sleeping Mode, with Fast and Eco Modes also available.

The unit can also be charged by AC or car outlet, a larger portable power station from the EcoFlow range, or using an up to 400W solar input.

Described as the world's first "3-in-1 portable fridge, freezer, and ice maker", the new EcoFlow GLACIER is another innovative 'glamping' product pitched at outdoor travellers and recreational enthusiasts including campers and boaters as well as those who spend a lot of time on the road, for work or pleasure.

New EcoFlow GLACIER is a world-first 3-in-1 ice-maker and fridge/freezer

"Its powerful compressor cools from 30°C to 0°C in as little as 15 minutes, while the built-in ice maker can produce 18 ice cubes in only 12 minutes. The 298Wh plug-in battery allows 40 hours of refrigeration or 19 hours of below-freezing temperatures on a single charge," the company says.

The GLACIER comes with two internal storage compartments that can be set up as either a fridge or freezer, with different modes available including 'Max' and 'Eco'.

The GLACIER weighs 23kg and can be charged by AC, DC, solar panels or power stations, and it comes with a detachable handle and wheels so it can be pulled around like a suitcase. The plug-in battery can also be used to charge up small devices like phones.

As far as Australian pricing goes, the EcoFlow WAVE 2 retails for $1999 and the GLACIER is priced at $1499. The EcoFlow WAVE 2 add-on battery costs $1199. They're available from major online and walk-in retailers, as well as the EcoFlow webstore.
