Brisbane's Apollo RV is taking on top-end motorhome manufacturer Paradise with a bold new, luxury-lined, nine metre long Windsor Platinum Series motorhome costing $390,000.
Described as having "every conceivable luxury and every imaginable innovation", the new 7000kg-plus Windsor Platinum Series is based on the Iveco Daily 70C17 with 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. It's the most expensive model to date in the new Brisbane-built Windsor five-model motorhome range introduced earlier this year.
The Windsor Platinum Series features three electric slide outs, to create separate 'living zones' around the bunk beds, kitchen and rear master bedroom, with sleeping for up to five people.
Described as a "modern masterpiece that has been hand crafted to meet the needs of even the most refined of tastes," the Platinum Series comes standard with high-end fittings like Aguti GIS-Liner Captain's chairs, Posture Perfect hi-top queen mattress and Corian benchtops, along with designer furnishings such as Hermes wallpaper, Phillip Jeffries wall coverings and Rogerseller bathroom accessories.
However, what really sets the Windsor Platinum Series apart from other motorhomes is the inclusion of the ground-breaking OzXCorp lithium battery system, which includes more battery power than anything else on the market including a 14.3Kw/H lithium battery bank, 750 watts of roof-top solar and 5KW inverter.
The Melbourne-designed, full off-grid battery system is currently available on the Retreat ERV caravan range but the Platinum Series is believed to be the first application in a motorhome.
Controlled by a CZone smart management system, the chassis-integrated OzXCorp battery bank should allow simultaneous use of the motorhome's 12V/240V appliances, including Miele induction cooktop, dishwasher and combination microwave oven, air-conditioner and large compressor fridge/freezer, for many hours before requiring recharging.
Other features on the Platinum Series rarely seen together on an Australian-built motorhome include a wireless speaker and phone charger, 4G/WIFI extender, multiple 32 inch Smart TVs, automatic levelling system, 8m long, 240V powered awning and a portable vacuum cleaner.
"This luxury motorhome is a modern masterpiece that has been hand crafted to meet the needs of even the most refined of tastes. From its sensual, metallic accents to its exquisite trim and striking paintwork, there is nothing on the road quite like it," Apollo said.
Brisbane's Apollo dealership currently has two Platinum Series for sale: a brand new version for $390,000 driveaway, and a slightly used example for $309,990 drive-away. With just 1490km on the odometer, the motorhome is believed to have originally been built for Apollo CEO Luke Trouchet.
Apart from mega-buck off-roaders, top-end touring motorhomes are few and far between in Australia, with most luxury motorhomes sold for under $200,000. Tiffin's American-built, half million dollar Allegro Breeze is one exception, as are a few range-topping examples from Paradise, Avida, Sunliner and Suncamper.
