Marketed as Trico EnduroShield, the Australian-developed product is applied from a small spray pack and gently rubbed on with a clean cloth. The result is a thin transparent film which adheres to the glass windscreen.
The water- and oil-repelling formula beads the rainwater rather than allowing it to sheet, providing enhanced safety through reduced vision distortion.
Unlike silicone-based coatings which reportedly require regular re-application, the Trico formula is long-lasting on the windscreen and even longer on side and rear windows where it is not subject to the sweep of windscreen wipers. It is also UV stable and makes the windscreen easier to clean particularly when splattered with insects and bugs.
The 50mL bottle will treat up to three car windscreens or one large commercial vehicle windscreen, and is available at leading automotive outlets for approximately $25.
