Willow branches out

Fledgling Melbourne manufacturer shows off three new models at Victorian Supershow

Fast-growing Pakenham, Victoria RV manufacturer Willow displayed its expanded 2019 range at the Melbourne Caravan Supershow, showcasing its new slide-out and family caravan models as well as its entry into the growing box camper market with its 4250mm long ‘Sprout’.

Continuing its arboreal model-name theme, the new 19ft 6in Ironbark 622X is the first of the new ‘slider’ range that at an RRP of $79,990 is expected to become one of Willow's most popular models.

Slide-out bed frees up space inside the Willow Ironbark

Featuring a Lippert mechanism to extend its transverse queen bed 600mm out from the right side in a conventional slide-out layout, the Ironbark’s point of difference in a crowded marketplace is its obsessive Willow construction.

This includes high-density 29mm thick composite walls and roof with imbedded high-density polyurethane fixing rails,  combined with a 35mm thick composite floor from similar material. Inside, the CNC-cut furniture is dove-tailed for added strength.

While it has a modest Tare weight of 2470kg, the big feature of the new slide-out Willow is a massive 750kg payload.

Other features of the Ironbark 622X include a pleated leather U-shaped front lounge, ‘fingerprint-free’ matte finish cabinetry, a pop-up recessed TV in the bedroom and a full ensuite across the rear of the van.

Willow also showed off the new family version of its mainstream Conifer range that makes space for the double-stacked single bunks in the right hand rear, by placing its queen bed transversely in the front, combined with an L-shaped lounge and a compact central kitchen.

Twin 95-litre fresh water tanks, an 80Ah AGM battery and twin 120W rooftop solar panels are included in its spec.

Finally, Willow showed off its new 4520mm long and 1030kg Tare weight, Sprout box camper.

Sprout box camper is ready for some minimalist off-road camping

Featuring full AL-KO Enduro off-road independent suspension and the same wall, floor and roof composite construction as the Willow caravans, the Sprout comes with serious front stone protection and a tool box with a generator slide tray, making it a fair dinkum bush track camper..

A fixed north-south bed, a pull-out exterior kitchen with a drawer fridge, 60 litres of fresh water capacity and 160W of rooftop solar are some of its inclusions for a RRP of $29,990.
