Freedom RVs will add some colour and excitement to next week’s Queensland Caravan Show with the launch of an eye-catching new off-road family caravan dubbed the ‘Wild Child’.
Based on the popular Sunseeker Mirage Sport released at the last year's Brisbane show, Freedom RVs is hoping the new 18ft single axle Wild Child model will attract family buyers with its combination of vibrant design, lightweight construction and competitive pricing.
“It’s a real youthful caravan that hasn’t been done before,” explained Freedom RVs boss Chris Michel. “It’s got different colours including silver composite panels, charcoal checker plate, bright yellow striping and flames up the rear.”
Like the Mirage Sport, the Sunseeker Wild Child is built with a SupaGal chassis, aluminium frame, Alucobond aluminium composite cladding, one-piece fibreglass roof and formwork ply flooring.
The standard off-road package includes Al-Ko Enduro Outback independent trailing arm suspension, Hitchmaster DO-35 coupling, 12in electric brakes and 16in alloy wheels with mud terrain tyres.
The Wild Child also comes with a 120Ah deep cycle battery and 150W solar roof panel, two 9kg gas bottles and two 95 litre water tanks, plus a new generator storage box located next to the spare wheel at the rear.
Designed for luxury living, the interior layout includes a queen size bed and two bunk beds, combination shower/toilet, dinette and full height rear wardrobe, along with up-spec appliances such as a washing machine, tropical-rated 186 litre three-way fridge, oven, and roof-mounted air-conditioner.
Despite all the trimmings, Tare weight has been kept to 2000kg and with a payload of up to 600kg, the 18ft van is towable by a range of popular SUVs including the Toyota Prado and Ford Terrritory.
Like all Sunseeker caravans, the Wild Child is manufactured by Melbourne-based custom builder Titanium Caravans, and is competitively priced from $64,990.
