Wenger recycles Swiss Army Knife

Just about everybody has owned or made use of a Swiss Army Knife, the century-old, multi-tool gadget that fits in your pocket and has come to the rescue of millions around the home, garage or campsite.

Now Wenger, one of the creators of the original Swiss Army Knife, has released a twist on the ubiquitous red-and-white-cross colour scheme, with its latest range of EvoWood pocket knives.

Not only are the handles of these stylish gadgets made from walnut wood, the material used has been salvaged from what would otherwise be waste material from other production processes, giving the multi-function tools distinct ‘green’ credentials.

What’s more, the natural walnut, durable enough for light outdoor use, is coloured in a rich dark stain to create various shades and grain patterns, endowing every knife with its own individual look.

The EvoWood range uses the same high quality blades and tools as on other Wenger knives. Four different models with popular tool configurations are available, featuring Wenger’s new Evolution design with concave and convex handles.

Blades and tools include knife, wood saw, scissors, pliers, universal wrench, screwdrivers, can opener, corkscrew, reamer/awl, nail file/cleaner, and key ring. And if you really get stuck, you could use one for firewood! 

Prices start at $69.95, with the 21 function, EvoWood 557, pictured, retailing for $139.95.
