A lucky female caravan enthusiast who once restored a vintage Millard model, has won one of the biggest homegrown caravan prizes this year.
The raffle for the Track Trailer Topaz Eyre 10th Anniversary Scout Edition giveaway competition was drawn in late-October, with winning entrant ‘Tracy W’ picking up her prize at the Open Day of Track Trailer's Melbourne outlet, Outback HQ on November 17.
According to Track Trailer marketing manager Lloyd Waldron, the winner said she “only entered the competition to win a solar panel and was blown away to discover she took out the major prize”.
“Tracy is a long time caravaner and has fully restored a 30-year old Millard,” Waldron said. “She is looking forward to taking her Topaz north after Christmas to visit family and get off the blacktop to0.”
As well as the optional Scout pack, introduced earlier this year to mark 10 years of Topaz production, the Topaz giveaway was loaded up with other options including leather padded bedhead and sides, luggage tray/wood rack with front support brackets and a three-speed fan with timer.
Also included in the major prize were other goodies, including a lithium battery system, 60 litre portable fridge, 40A battery charger, 150W solar blanket, Anderson cable, petrol generator, alloy wheels and tyres and an electric brake controller, to boost the overall prize value well into six figures.
The 5th Track Trailer/Outback HQ Open Day also drew a number of off-road personalities including long-time adventurer and travel writer Ron Moon and TV host Pat Callinan.
With Outback HQ's recent appointment as a Cub Campers dealer, Roger Fagan, who co-founded the 50-year-old NSW hard-floor camper manufacturer, also attended.
“This year was the biggest yet due to a fantastic turnout from manufacturing partners and the presentation to the winner of the largest ever Track Trailer giveaway competition," Waldron said.
