However, the highly-rated Green Hill Farm Holiday Park has taken it to a whole new level, after being named the best caravan park in the UK at the annual Loo of the Year awards.
The family-run park beat more than 3000 other parks for the prestigious, top of the plops award, after its washroom facilities were ‘mystery shopped’ by inspectors.
The husband and wife owners are not shy in promoting their “award winning toilets and showers’ on the Green Hill Farm website, highlighting such luxury features as private vanity cubicles with large basins, underfloor heating, and hairdryers, as well as separate family and disabled bathrooms.
Along with desirable dunnies, the park located in the village of Landford, near Salisbury, features a picturesque backdrop of forest and lakes and offers various activities including archery tuition, laser clay shooting, and Segway riding.
Overnight fees for two adults in a caravan or motorhome range from £18.50-28.50 ($35-54), depending on the time of year.
The UK's annual Loo of the Year Awards have been running for 28 years, and were set up to encourage the highest standards of care when it comes to public toilets.
