They have brought us brightly coloured bodywork, ‘waterfall’ benchtops, the caravan spa bath and a tap that dispenses chilled, carbonated or boiling water and now Melbourne’s Van Cruiser has brought us the caravan ‘Branch Bars’.
Based on the ‘bush bars’ fitted to some serious off-road warriors, such as Goldstream’s Rhino, the tubular steel protective rails are now available as an option on all Van Cruiser caravans, with owner/builder Enzo Gnocato saying that there has been a high take-up rate.
Typically ‘Van Cruiser’, the Branch Bars are matched to the van’s bright Alucobond cladding highlight colours.
And because the Van Cruisers usually have windowless front walls and no front panel boot, the bars can serve as the base for a boat, surfboard or bike rack if the owner desires.
However Gnocato says they have a serious body protection role.
“Because caravans are usually taller than the tow car, their front can be vulnerable on tracks leading to some of the best bush or seaside camps,” he said. ??
“These bars weight very little in the scheme of things and will avoid body damage, but most of our customers want them because they also look great!”
They will be on display on at least one caravan on Van Cruiser’s stand at this week’s Melbourne Leisurefest at Sandown Park Racecourse from October 8-11.
