Melbourne's Urban Caravans has rolled out a special limited-edition version of its full off-road hybrid couple's caravan, developed in conjunction with popular caravanning Youtubers Sarah and Keelan Travels.
Unveiled at the 2025 Queensland Caravan & Camping Supershow, the new 17ft 6in SKT Signature Series comes fully loaded up for remote Outback travel, featuring a 4500kg-rated Xtreme Truss chassis with Terraglide airbag suspension, disc brakes, DO-45 coupling, electric jockey wheel, recovery tracks and 18in alloys with Mickey Thompson rubber.
Meanwhile, for extended off-grid living, there's a Victron power system with two 300Ah lithium batteries, 1540W solar and a 3000W inverter, plus two 4.5kg gas bottles, 330L freshwater and 95L grey water tanks, and a composting toilet.
The aluminium-framed 'van also gets Urban's rear platform bar and rear wing, and large bullet-nosed front storage box, while a diesel heater, roof-mounted air-conditioner, Starlink provision, and dust suppression system are also part of the remote travel package.
A cosy interior layout includes a corner-mounted north-south queen bed with pillowtop mattress, a small bench dinette with leatherette seating, kitchenette with four-hob cooktop and grille, microwave, air fryer, black square sink with mixer tap and a 224L compressor fridge, plus there's also a full-width ensuite with separate shower and toilet.
Also part of the long list of inclusions is a 32in Smart TV, Fusion stereo, rear camera, a 3kg wall-mount washing machine and Wi-Fi light switches.
"The SKT Signature Series is more than just another off-road caravan – it’s a game-changer on wheels," the Melbourne manufacturer says on its website.
"Crafted by Urban Caravans in close collaboration with full-time adventurers Sarah and Keelan of Sarah and Keelan Travels, this van is the result of five years spent exploring some of the most rugged and remote parts of Australia. Every detail has been shaped by real experience, with no shortcuts and no compromises."
Speaking at the Queensland Supershow, Keelan said the 2.2m wide off-roader also boasted a lower roof height and some aerodynamic tweaks to make it better for towing both on- and off-road, although the compact tandem-axle 'van is no lightweight with a Tare mass of 2995kg and an ATM of 4308kg.
Admitting that all caravans are compromised in some way, Keelan said the Urban SKT is as "close to the perfect set-up that we can get". The SKT is the couple's fourth Urban caravan.
"We had a mission to design the best off-road capable couple's caravan on the market," he said.
"We pretty much wanted something we could drag up to Arnhem Land and live off the land for two months at a time, that was our mission essentially, and I think we've got pretty bloody close."
Urban plans to build 100 examples of the limited-edition model. The show van was priced at $159,990, with Urban's Queensland dealer currently advertising SKT Build No.2 on caravancampingsales for $169,990 drive-away.
