Brisbane-based recreational vehicle manufacturer Talvor has re-launched its flagship four-berth Hayman motorhome with a number of new features, including a much larger slide-out panel wall.
The new four-metre long extendable section is double the length of the slide-out wall on the original Hayman introduced in 2011 and extends the living and bedroom areas by 25 per cent at the push of a button when the vehicle is stationary.
New tinted sliding glass windows, increased LP Gas storage, a larger SMEV gas cooker, a retractable Flickmixer hose tap and extra kitchen bench space are amongst other upgrades.
Talvor CEO Luke Trouchet said the Hayman had consistently been one of the best-selling models in the Australian-owned company’s range since its introduction, with the ‘slide-out’ being its most popular feature.
"As with all Talvor recreational vehicles, we have paid great attention to the most important factors in the new Hayman -- a good night’s sleep, a great place to cook and an enjoyable space to entertain in," said Trouchet.
Built on Fiat Ducato mechanicals, the new Hayman offers spacious living for up to four people and comes with standard dual driver and passenger airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, a reversing camera with a five-inch colour LCD monitor and ABS brakes.
Armchair-style driver and passenger seats swivel 360 degrees and the floor is level from the drivers’ cabin right through to the back, enabling the entire vehicle to be used as living space when stationary.
Inside the living and sleeping areas, Talvor has opted for a contemporary look in the soft and hard furnishings, with neutral interior tones.
Available in a standard C-Class layout with the ensuite at the rear of the vehicle, the new Hayman also boasts increased storage space for long-term travel and comes equipped with two oversized double beds -- one in the living and the other above the cabin.
LPG gas storage capacity has been increased by almost 30 per cent to 9kg. Significant changes have been made in the kitchen appliances and design including a much larger SMEV modern stainless steel four-burner gas cooker, grill and oven, a three-way auto-switching 186-litre fridge and 22-litre hot water system.
The stainless-steel sink has been equipped with a retractable pull-out Flickmixer hose and a glass cover to provide extra bench space for food preparation and serving.
The motorhome is sold pre-wired to have solar panels installed as a dealer-fitted upgrade.
The Hayman’s rear ensuite incorporates a spacious 80cm by 80cm shower cubicle and can also accommodate an optional 2.2kg top-loader washing machine.
The Fiat Ducato’s 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine with its six-speed automatic transmission is a popular choice with many motorhome manufacturers and offers maximum power of 130kW and a strong 400Nm of torque for this four-tonne ‘apartment on wheels’.
Being the latest Ducato, it also has Fiat’s new Traction Plus System, which simulates the behaviour of a self-locking differential, restoring traction on slippery surfaces or over poor terrain.
Outside, a 4.8m roll-out awning and external shower come as standard, while a portable BBQ and fold down picnic table are optional.
The new Hayman has a RRP of $159,410 and sits at the top of Talvor’s motorhome range, which begins at $105,990. Talvor’s similarly Australian-built caravans are priced from $45,990.
