Unique $700K Iveco 4x4 motorhome arrives

Queensland boutique RV manufacturer Latitude has built its first luxury full off-road motorhome, based on an Iveco Daily 4x4 chassis.

Although final pricing and full specs are still be announced, Latitude Motorhomes expects its new ibeX 4x4 expedition model to be priced from around $700,000 drive-away.

That's a lot of money for a go almost anywhere, tiny house on wheels, but you do get some special features including possibly the only slide-out bedroom on an Australian-built extreme off-grid motorhome!

By the looks of it you also get a very serious off-road fit-out and a high level of finish inside and out, including in-house designed front and rear winch units, hydraulic levelling and body-on-chassis articulation systems, a scratch resistant Raptor exterior coating, carbon-reinforced 3D printed step mounts, heavy-duty retractable entry steps, a dual-purpose grab handle/security lock, built-in air compressors, a recessed box awning, and full exterior lighting controlled by a marine digital manager.

A well above-average off-grid power set-up includes a 24V 18kWh lithium battery system with 1.5kW rooftop solar and 5kW inverter, while there's also 370L freshwater capacity and two additional fuel tanks (150L and 60L) to help keep you well away from the crowds for days on end.

Latitude has even fitted an external 'wet' locker with a pressure washer for cleaning the outside of the camper after a mud run!

An equally impressive internal fit-out extends to the driver's cabin which gets fancy leather re-upholstered seats, while the 5.0m long motorhome body delivers more comforts than you expect in a tough truck camper, including a galley with 3.2m long benchspace, comfy lounge/dinette, a walk-around slide-out queen bed, rear storage wall and a roomy shower cubicle.

Among other big-ticket inclusions are a 43in screen tv, induction cooktop, 210L compressor fridge/freezer and 30L drawer fridge, and a gas-powered incinerator toilet.

Latitude says the slide-out has been designed and tested to seal tightly and stand up to an Outback beating, although the ibeX 4x4 can also be ordered with a more conventional, sans slide-out configuration.

The 10-year old motorhome specialist says it chose the Ivevo 4x4 truck as the base due to it being "very car like" and comfortable to drive, while the first example built for a customer is "fully loaded so there's not much more you can add to it".
