Ultimate Campers is celebrating its 20th anniversary by releasing a limited edition version of its latest Xplor camper trailer featuring benchtops and a rear spoiler made from carbon fibre.
The attention-grabbing X20 model was unveiled at this week’s NSW Caravan, Camping, RV & Holiday Supershow, 20 years after the Moruya, NSW manufacture revealed its original Elite camper at the same venue.
“We launched at Rosehill (Racecourse) in 1994 and we are proud to be back two decades later as one of the industry’s most respected companies,” said Ultimate’s National Sales and Marketing Manager, Simon Don.
The sleek, fibreglass/canvas X20 shares many of the new features of Ultimate’s mid-range Xplor model, including a bigger 1340 litre nosecone and higher capacity electrical system.
However, it also has some exclusive items including a carbon fibre galley bench and table, carbon rear dust deflector, and new 17in wheel and tyre package.
The X20 also stands out from the crowd with a limited edition external colour scheme and graphics, and custom interior design including unique orange/grey lounge fabrics, curtains and bedding.
The Xplor’s already impressive power system has been boosted with a 40A Redarc DC-DC charger and 700W inverter, and there's a few more luxuries like a Fusion CA-CD800 sound system and built-in in hot water/shower system to take the edge off 'roughing it' in the bush.
The X20 will also be available with a Trumatic gas heater – the first time an Ultimate camper trailer will have the option of heating.
As the name suggests, just 20 of the limited edition model will be produced, with pricing from $58,920 – or around $6400 more than the basic Xplor camper, which is Ultimate’s most popular model.
Claiming to build “the world’s best off-road campers”, Ultimate Campers was started by boat builder Michael Hackett in 1994 and has produced around 1600 campers since then, according to Don.
“Despite the tough economic environment we are continuing to innovate and create Australian jobs,” he said. “Last year we unveiled the Xplor and the year before that we showcased the ground-breaking Nautilus for the first time.”
