Australian extreme off-road caravan manufacturer Crzrvan has revealed details of its most sophisticated and lavish off-grid custom build to date.
Described by the five-year old Shepparton, Victoria-based manufacturer as its "most complex build yet", the large tandem axle family bunk van is jam-packed with cutting-edge features, including a 'world first' matching wheel set-up developed with Trailparts Australia that allows the owners to run caravan hubs that match their Isuzu NPS tow vehicle's.
"This build is fitted with custom billet machined hubs to accept the enormous Isuzu PCD measurement, allowing this van to run matching super single 37inch tyres of the NPS platform," it says on the Crzrvan website.
For extra off-roadability the unique live axle airbag suspension that underpins all Crzrvans runs King remote reservoir 2.5 adjustable shock absorbers, with 250mm suspension travel and sway bar disconnect links.
"(The sway bar disconnect links allow) for fantastic on road performance and with the turn of a knob unrestricted articulation offroad," Crzrvan said. "This is very important on such a large build. Wheels are now able to follow the contours of uneven ground, keeping tyres on the ground and not in the air resulting in a more stable van offroad."
Queensland-based RV power specialist Safiery was in charge of the tow vehicle's and caravan's inter-connected electronics set-up, with Safiery's Bruce Loxton describing the Crzrvan's airbag suspension with Safiery-controlled remote auto ride height function as the best off-road caravan suspension in the world.
"Safiery’s integrated display with automated ride height... allows the driver from the vehicle to change the ride height on the go," he says in this Youtube video.
"In fact we are re-naming two settings to 'extreme driver tilt' and 'extreme passenger tilt' so that he can manoeuvre the van through narrow passes with overhanging branches."
Off-grid camping is taken care of with an 800Ah lithium battery bank fed by 2230W of rooftop solar, with an extra-large fabricated rear spoiler providing additional roof space to fit all the solar panels. Paired with a 6000W inverter, it's enough to run all the appliances including the Vitrifrigo 320 litre stainless steel compressor fridge, washer/dryer, ice maker and air fryer.
There's also a whopping 600 litres' water storage and spots for eight jerry cans, although the van is not entirely electric with a couple of gas bottles fitted to run a Weber bbq.
And have you ever seen a caravan with its rooftop air-conditioner protected by metal 'brush guards'?
Along with a Garmin detachable display for monitoring and controlling all the electronics, other cool features include 'tool-less' re-greasable axles, a custom toolbox with central locking, rifle storage, and two external locker doors that provide outside access to the internal shower cubicle.
While other upmarket features fitted include an Ogo composting toilet, Italian hand-made solid brass tapware, Corian benchtops, a reverse osmosis filter kit, and a king-size bed that drops down electrically from the ceiling over the leather club lounge.
Crzr Industries was founded around 2019 by Victorian Rhys Conti, an off-road enthusiast and transport business operator who was driven by the desire to build game-changing remote travel caravans for serious, no-comprise off-road adventurers.
He's developed a number of models since, including compact hybrids and toy haulers, with the innovative Crzr chassis and suspension set-up even finding its way under some other Victorian-built caravans, like the Optimum CRZR (Cruiser) Edition offered by Masterpiece.
Conti said on Facebook that his latest, off-grid 'mega' creation was "a credit to the owners for without customers who allow us to push the boundaries this wouldn't be possible".
There's no mention of final cost (nor how big or heavy it is), but it would have to be a contender for the priciest caravan build in the country to date, rivalling some of the big-ticket six-tonne Kedrons and $300K-plus (before options) Bruder EXP-8 range-toppers.
Speaking on their Youtube channel, the owners of the mind-blowing glamour-van said they considered a regular production Bruder but went with the Crzrvan for their new home-on-wheels due to the niche Victorian manufacturer's low-volume, fully bespoke approach.
