A new guidebook that aims to dispel social media myths and commercial advertising hype around towing a large caravan, has hit the bookshelves.
'Safe Caravan Towing - The Manual' is described as a comprehensive guide to towing large caravans, trailers and horse floats in Australia, and includes safe and legal towing information based on many years of research by the manager and researcher of the popular Truck Friendly road safety program website and Facebook page, Ken Wilson.
Written in an easy-to-understand language, the 200-page manual covers all aspects of towing a caravan, from choosing the right towing vehicle and caravan, to loading and towing it on the highways safely and legally.
The book includes over 80 diagrams and photos, as well as numerous 'Ken's Tips' and QR codes that can be scanned to take the reader to further information and videos.
It also contains new previously unpublished researched information, as well as updates of popular articles from the Truck Friendly's extensive library.
Ken Wilson said "it's probably one of the best resources" available for learning about safe and legal towing in Australia.
"I have yet to see a book that has the information that that one has in it," the caravan safety campaigner said. "It goes into a lot of details, a lot of smaller books brush over the subjects. In my book I go into the hows and whys...".
'Safe Caravan Towing - The Manual' is available in hard copy ($49.99 plus postage) or E-Book ($27.50) formats, from the Truck Friendly website.
