NSW's Ultimate Off-Road Campers is offering a limited number of very expensive, fully-loaded special-edition campers to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Publicly unveiled at the NSW Caravan Camping Holiday Supershow in Sydney last week, only 25 examples of the exclusive Ultimate X25 will be produced at Ultimate's Moruya factory.
At least six have already sold, despite an eye-watering pricetag of $95,990 (plus on-road costs).
The Ultimate X25 is the most densely-equipped Ultimate camper to date, building on the Nexus 360, the luxury model of the Ultimate range that costs around $20,000 less.
The 'silver anninversary' model gets unique silver sparkle finish inside and out, limited edition badging (with each camper uniquely numbered) plus the SeaDek stairwell upgrade (with customised 25th Anniversary logo) to set it apart from the standard models.
Beyond the glamour, key additions to the X25 over the Nexus 360 include the Ultimate's comprehensive off-grid package which features a 5.12kWh lithium battery and Victron 24v electrical system upgrade with Victron Multiplus 2 3000w inverter and 620watt 48v solar array.
Apart from the high-tensile Duragal chassis, independent trailing arm coil-spring suspension and Cruisemaster DO35 coupling, other X25 features include a Truma Saphir Comfort ducted air conditioner, Combi heater/hot water, external shower, 130-litre fridge, Fusion RA770 audio with external speakers, portable induction hob, electric fold-out opening/closing, 360 main tent (including modified bows), 17-inch PDW Star alloy wheels fitted with 305/65R17 off-road tyres, a TV shelf mount and a rear tap.
The upmarket Ultimate X25 was first shown at the Ultimate Campers 25th Anniversary Muster at Kyola, NSW in March, where a record 150 campers and 330 people attended.
While still one of the most desirable off-road trailers in the country, the Ultimate camper has come a long way since its arrival in 1996 as a light, aerodynamic fibreglass-bodied, side-fold camper with unique spaceship-pod frontal design.
