Caravan shows in Australia are traditionally all-static affairs, but this year’s Melbourne Leisurefest plans to change that with visitors able to ‘try before they buy’ at a new towing track facility at the Sandown Racecourse venue.
For the first time in Australia, Al-Ko is offering visitors to an Australian caravan show the opportunity to sit in a tow vehicle and experience first-hand the safety benefits of Al-Ko Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the world’s first anti-sway system for electric-braked caravans.
A limited number of spots are available on all four days of the show (October 2-5) on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis, with those interested in taking part required to register first on the Al-Ko ESC website.
Murcotts Driving School will also be running caravan towing demonstrations on the race track, and visitors will be able to ride in the passenger seat to get a feel for how different caravans tow.
More than 300 exhibitors are expected to display their wares at the seventh annual running of Victoria’s second biggest RV show, with a number of new brands and models expected to be on display for the first time at a Melbourne show.
These include Franklin caravans, which is set to launch a new range of models available nationally on the stand of newly-appointed Melbourne dealer, Caravan Super Centre.
Airstream Australia along with Adria are also expected to display the latest imported models from the US and Europe, while Melbourne’s Sunliner should attract plenty of interest with its innovative
Among countless new products and accessories will be the world’s first solar powered tent pole from Doble Outdoors, while Dometic will be officially launching its latest Carad 600F high-security caravan door, already fitted to a number of locally-available models including the Swift Explorer 620 caravan.
Entertainment-wise, Leisurefest will feature daily educational seminars, and family entertainment including a Kids Caravanning Explorers Club, Jazz Joker three-piece band and fishing demonstrations at the Yamaha Supertank.
