The world's biggest caravan and motorhome show has kicked off for the 51st time in Dusseldorf, Germany, showcasing the latest and greatest RV products and design trends from around Europe as well as the rest of the world.
Running from August 27 to September 4, the Caravan Salon Dusseldorf will have on display around 2000 vehicles from 690 exhibitors.
More than 120 brands from around 26 countries will be represented -- including 3Dog campers from Pakenham, Victoria -- showcasing caravans and mobile homes, accessories, tents, and travel destinations over 180,000 square metres in 10 halls and open grounds.
"As a form of holidaying caravanning is once again enjoying great popularity and this year we will again be presenting all sorts of highlights plus many world innovations,” said Salon director Helmut Winkler.
Being Europe, lightweight construction materials are a major focus, with many of the larger motorhomes on display managing to keep under the 3.5 ton limit without compromising on comfort. Eco-friendly products and innovations will also be highlighted, including mobile homes with hybrid drive systems.
The hiking and trekking fair TourNatur will run alongside the Caravan Salon, and include more than 5000 hiking destinations as well as the latest equipment for hiking and trekking.
Organisers expect around 160,000 people to flow through the doors over the nine days, enjoying what is described as the "world’s leading trade fair for mobile leisure".
