Melbourne's Trailblazers is known for its top-end RV trailers, not to mention its tough ute and truck camper fit-outs and the odd feral hybrid.
But now you can save money and do-it-yourself, with the Dingley Village, Victoria-based manufacturer offering bare-shell versions of its premium ute and truck camper bodies from as little as $24,000.
"Trailblazers now offers custom-built DIY camper bodies, designed to suit the exact dimensions of your ute or truck chassis," the company recently announced on social media.

Two 'bare box' designs are being offered: a slide-on camper body designed for flat-tray utes, and an Overland XP body that can be fitted to medium-duty trucks including the Isuzu NPS, Fuso Canter, Iveco Daily, and Mercedes-Benz Unimog.
"Each unit is built to order based on your vehicle’s tray size and payload capacity," Trailblazers said. "You receive a fully constructed, insulated camper shell complete with a robust subframe and pre-installed entry door, providing the perfect structural foundation for your custom fit-out."

Backed by a one-year structural warranty, the two lift-off designs boast a composite insulated construction incorporating a structural steel base.
Options include pre-cut access for windows, hatches and service ports, while Trailblazers is also promising "expert support on layout planning, components and systems integration".

"Whether you're building a compact touring set-up or a full-spec expedition rig, Trailblazers gives you a strong, purpose-built platform to make it your own," the 25-year old manufacturer said.
Trailblazers is yet to announce full pricing, but said a twin-cab ute body with 2000mm base, security door and four tie-down points, costs $24,000.
