TowSafe caravan weight scales
Now you can carry around your very own personal weigh bridgeMore and more attention is being put on the importance of towing with the correct weights, for both safety and legal reasons.
But short of stumbling across a public weigh bridge, it’s not always easy or convenient to discover exactly how much your caravan or even tow vehicle weighs.
But now the makers of the excellent Towsafe ball scales have released new fully tested and certified portable, digital platform scales designed specifically for weighing trailers in your driveway or street.
Made from lightweight aluminium and stainless steel, the new TowSafe Caravan & Trailer Weight Control Scales are designed to deliver accurate readings, whether placed under a caravan wheel or jockey wheel.
The scales will measure ball weight, ATM, GTM, GVM and GCVM and can handle up to 1500kg per wheel, or up to 3000kg in total for single axle vans and up to 6000kg for twin axle vans.
Boasting five internal load cells, the scales are accurate to within 0.2% according to lab testing, and they’re designed to last with a tough IP66 rating for ingress protection.
Other features include a large LCD readout with 1kg increments and at just 18mm high, the low-profile weighing platform reduces the need for leveling pads.
Power is supplied by two 3V button cell batteries that are supplied with the unit and are good for up to 100 hours of use.
The new Towsafe portable platform scales are priced at $469, and can be ordered directly from the Intertrade website.
