There are a lot of caravan adventures we can have, but when it comes to driving on the highways or in the Outback, a little bit of common courtesy goes a long way to having an enjoyable as well as safe time.
In my job relocating caravans around Australia I get to see the best and worst in driver behaviour, and one of my pet hates is a lack of courtesy for other road users.
I don’t have a problem with you travelling down the highway at 80 to 90km/h pulling your caravan and staying safe in the process.
Just as long as when dual passing lanes appear, you slow down even more to allow that line of traffic that has gathered behind you over the past 10 or 20 kilometres, to pass.
It’s frustrating to see slower vehicles with a huge line up of large trucks and other caravanners behind them to actually speed up rather than slow down and let the other vehicles safely pass.
Then back on the single lane with a speed limit of 100-110km/h, these same caravanners drop their speed back to 80-90km/h.
Please don’t be one of these clowns – show some common courtesy and respect to all road users and let all road users enjoy the drive.
