Top-5 Aussie hybrid campers of 2024

Hybrid caravan buyers are spoilt for choice. Here's our pick of the outstanding new releases of 2024...

Here are five of our favourite, locally-built hybrid caravan and camper releases of the year...

Tekton SVX-4

Melbourne's Tekton RV only builds a few hybrid campers a year, but they're all pretty special like this single axle SVX-4 with optional orange exterior, that we spent a few hours with at Victoria's Murrindindi Scenic Reserve in early-2024.

The owners of this custom-built beauty added quite a few optional extra like a thumping Garmin/Fusion entertainment system and specially designed 12V-converted Starlink set-up that runs through the Victron battery system and includes an ethernet port for the TV -- all part of Tekton's Bespoke customisation program.

Offline Solitaire

The Solitaire hybrid is the fourth off-road towable model from the fledgling South Australian manufacturer, and gets the same high-quality platform-base, running tear and hi-tech composite build as other Offline campers, but with a few more luxuries like a large, fixed north/south innerspring queen bed and undercover ensuite.

OTM Crossfire 4.7

On The Move Caravans' compact Chinese-built hybrid off-road camper got plenty of attention when it debuted at the 2024 Sydney Supershow, and it's certainly a trick piece of kit with its unique three-piece composite body shell with skateboard deck-finish decals and auto-grade sliding windows.

It's just as appealing inside the OTM Crossfire 4.7, with the adoption of glossy moulded cabinetry and a caravan-style layout including separate ensuite.

Cub F14

Sydney's Cub Campers started out more than 50 years ago building tent campers, but more recently has been rolling out a stylish range of hybrid caravans. The latest F14 is a clever mix of both, with a low-profile hard body shell and tall pop-top roof, and a floorplan with a king bed, seating and kitchenette, to go with the outside kitchen...

Lifestyle Fusionn Hypercamper

We're big fans of Lifestyle Campers, which produces some of the best off-road ready hybrid campers in the country for the money. The latest Queensland-built Lifestyle Fusionn Hypercamper sleeps up to four people and comes fitted with top-of-the-line off-road components including Cruisemaster's ATX airbag suspension, for its introductory price of $89,950 plus ORC...
