Titanium Caravans has launched two lightweight composite off-grid premium hybrid caravans, the HS1 and HS2, which pack a lot of tough capability and luxury into their light and compact footprints, offering camping anywhere, anytime, without compromise.
Key ingredients in both hybrid campers include extensive off-grid camping capacity, tough off-road capability and modest weight that means they can be towed by any dual-cab ute or SUV.
While the HS1 and HS2 are the entry level models to Titanium ownership, these are still very much premium, off-grid campers with all the high-end features and furnishings you’d expect of a Titanium product.
These begin with a light, vehicle-width body, meaning either is excellent for safely threading your way along tight bush tracks, while their fibreglass composite sandwich-panel walls and one-piece 30mm fibreglass composite roof panel ensure lightweight durability. Then there’s the independent air suspension, large battery and extensive solar system capacity, along with all the convenience features you’d ever need to make the most of camping in Australia’s great outdoors without compromising on comfort.
Both the HS1 and HS2 offers the versatility of single-axle or dual-axle format as well as hybrid pop-top or full-size body configuration. Both have the choice of 10 versatile floorplans, from 15ft 2in to 19ft 6in in body length, ranging from two-berth to four-berth, and all of course offered with an internal kitchen, dinette and shower/toilet.
Priced from $122,230, the HS1 is the most affordable model in the premium Titanium range. However, this lowest entry ticket to Titanium ownership is not lacking when it comes to inclusions.
With its fibreglass composite body mounted to a hot-dipped galvanised chassis, the HS1 sits on 16-inch Method Race wheels shod with Yokohama Geolandar AT Tyres. There is also the comfort and flexibility of Cruisemaster XT airbag suspension, underbody protection and a 110L poly rotomolded water tank (and a 110L grey water tank).
There are two rated rear recovery hooks to aid recovery should you ever find yourself stuck, while the Cruisemaster DO35 V3 off-road coupling is ideal for traversing undulating tracks. Electric 12-inch drum brakes are standard, as is an eight-inch adjustable jockey wheel.
Outdoor living is easy thanks to a Fiamma awning and an external slide-out kitchen with built-in storage drawers to suit a portable induction cooktop. These are complemented by a fold-down picnic table and an anti-dazzle LED awning light. The large, full-width tunnel boot is fully lined with checkerplate while the rear, two-arm bumper bar supports a spare wheel. Up front, there’s also generous storage available in the A-frame mounted toolbox.
Off-grid capacity is extensive, with HS1 boasting a Victron Micro-Touch battery management system, a 200Ah Victron lithium battery and two 200W solar panels. A 30A DC to DC charger, a 30A AC charger and a 30 MPPT solar controller are also part of the package, as is supervision of the Cerbo GX electrical and water tank touchscreen monitor.
There’s also capacity built-in to accept charge from the tow vehicle, portable solar, or to output battery power from the camper with three dedicated, colour-coded 50A Anderson plugs.
After stepping through the HS1’s triple compression locking entry door with a security screen, all-year camping comfort is assured with comprehensive heating and cooling options according to needs, from the diesel heater (and hot water service) combo, to the Sirocco fan and Dometic reverse-cycle roof-mounted air conditioner.
Entertainment is covered off with a 24-inch HD smart LED TV/DVD combo, plus a Fusion Bluetooth audio system with two internal speakers.
The inside kitchen includes a Dometic compressor fridge and, for hardtop models, a portable induction unit, along with a flatbed microwave and a slimline rangehood.
The HS2, starting from $158,525, is an even more premium off-grid-equipped Titanium, building on the standard equipment seen in the HS1 but with some additional higher-level inclusions. To begin with, on the outside, the HS2 gets the X-Guard coated chassis and Cruisemaster ATX airbag suspension.
Then there’s the three 110L poly rotomolded water tanks, a Victron Multi-Touch+ battery management system, two 200Ah Victron lithium batteries, and three 200W solar panels.
The HS2 also comes with a Wolf Fabrication Hybrid rear bar which includes two jerry can holders, a firewood box, a spare tyre, and sullage storage.
The HS1 and HS2 have both been tested by Titanium in the worst off-road conditions Australia has to offer, ensuring proof of concept.
