Most public caravan storage facilities offer a no-frills, pick up and drop-off service, but Queensland's Titan Caravans is now offering a 'white glove', valet-style storage service that's proving popular with time-poor owners.
The new five-star, high-capacity caravan storage facility, which includes a pre-delivery as well as home drop-off service, is located at Titan's new high-profile retail, production and service facility at Burpengary, which the seven-year-old RV business moved to from its previous Eagle Farm site in early-May.
The large 10,000sq.m factory outlet site located on the busy Bruce Highway, not far from other major RV outlets including Kratzmann and Brisbane RVs, also incorporates a large outdoor sales yard and service centre, as well as indoor reception and showroom.
Titan’s James Creswick told caravancampingsales that the new full valet caravan storage is modeled on a 'dry dock' boating facility, where owners can have their stored van presented with gas and water tanks full, maintenance and service items checked off and even delivered to their home if required.
"It costs around $35 a week depending on requirements and so far we have about 35 vans, with space for about 200 vans in total," Creswick said.
He said final assembly and production of Titan's range of full-composite caravans, expanders and hybrid campers, is also set to be relocated to the new Burpengary site.
Previously supplied by Melbourne's Roma, the Titan body panels are now imported from China before final assembly and fit-out including interior, suspension, and gas and electrical appliances takes place in Queensland, using parts from popular, locally-supplied brands including Cruisemaster, Thetford, Dometic and Enerdrive.
Creswick said the full composite Titan caravan bodies are constructed using marine-style heat laminated fibrelass panels with a gel-coat finish on both sides, with 35mm thick composite panels used for the walls and roof and a 50mm thick composite floor.
He said Titan has withstood the coronavirus downturn better than some RV businesses located south of the border, with Titan recently increasing staff numbers and continuing to deliver vans to both Queensland based as well as interstate buyers.
Titan currently offers 13 models in a range of styles and layouts, with the most recent release a 20ft Blackhawk Series Mid-door, tandem axle full height off-road caravan that comes well equipped with free camping features like a combination hot water/air heater, 200 litre water storage and a twin 120Ah battery system with 300W solar power, for a drive-away price of $79,990.
