Hard-floor camper specialist Cub Campers, major RV dealer the Sydney RV Group, and two caravan parks, Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park and BIG4 South Durras Holiday Park, have all achieved Hall of Fame honours at this year’s CCIA (Caravan and Camping Industry Association) Awards of Excellence.
All up, 24 awards were presented at the Sydney event, with Hall of Fame honours going to those businesses that have won the same category three years running.
The North Rocks’ based Cub Campers was victorious again in the ‘Best Manufacturer Caravans, Camper Trailers & Tents’ category, while the Penrith-based Sydney RV dealership won the 'Best Dealer/Retailer/Wholesaler – Sydney' glassware.
Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park in Gerroa was joint winner with the Lake Conjola Entrance Holiday Park in ‘Best South Coast Holiday Park – more than 100 sites’, while BIG4 South Durras Holiday Park cleaned up in the ‘Best South Coast Holiday Park – 100 sites or less’ category.
The two ‘Best of Best’ awards for 2017 were handed to Park Beach Holiday park in Coffs Harbour and the Jayco Newcastle dealership, which scored the Caravancampingsales sponsored ‘Best of the Best NSW Trade Business’ trophy.
Individual awards went to Robyn Turner (BIG4 Karuah Jetty), Jon McGuiggan (Avida RV) and David Hughes (Gateway Lifestyle Stanhope Gardens), all of whom won Employee of the Year awards in their respective categories, while Madelyn Wadley (Jayco Sydney) won the Young Achiever award.
Closing in on Hall of Fame status is Ballina-based Horizon Motorhomes, which managed to win ‘Best Manufacturer Motorhomes, Campervans & 5th Wheelers’, for the second time, pipping Avida RV for the trophy.
