Sporting celebrities from the AFL and Supercars arena joined a 200-strong industry crowd to celebrate the official opening of Melbourne's newest, state-of-the-art indoor caravan showroom.
A star-studded turn-out at the opening 'party' of The Touring Hub in Melbourne's north included past and present Richmond AFL champions Matthew Richardson, Jack Rielwoldt, Nick Vlastuin and Jayden Short, along with former footy player and agent Ricky Nixon and James Courtney of Supercars fame.
Former Richmond AFL star Jake King is the general manager of the new, multi-brand caravan retail and servicing facility which is backed by the CD Motor Group that also operates a number of car dealerships in the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
The Touring Hub facility located on the corner of Cooper St and Chadderton Bvd, Epping includes two new large buildings incorporating a spacious indoor showroom showcasing around 40 of the latest New Age, Urban, Concept, Newlands and TTH caravans, along with Polaris ATVs. There's also a retail section for spare parts and accessories, and a dedicated servicing facility along with two large delivery bays.
Jake King said the The Touring Hub provided the perfect blend of a car dealership-like retail experience with some of Australia's best known caravan and recreational brands conveniently located in the one undercover location.
"It's very good for the car industry to get further involved in the caravan industry," he said. "We're very lucky to have the support of the CD Motor Group behind The Touring Hub which has really helped us grow."
The Touring Hub facility is currently home to New Age Caravans Melbourne, Concept Caravans Melbourne, Newlands Caravan Melbourne and Polaris Hume, as well as the in-house TTH caravan range, although King hinted that more brands would be added to the mix in the near future.
Aussie singer/songwriter Bonnie Anderson also helped entertain the big crowd at the opening party while Ryan Walkinshaw, the CEO of the Walkinshaw Group which owns New Age Caravans, was in attendance too, together with one of the latest Walkinshaw Mustang GT race cars and a Walkinshaw-fettled Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme.
Continuing the sporting theme, ex-AFL star Brendon Fevola supplied refreshments on the night from his new beer label Everyday Australia.
The Touring Hub is currently running some special deals to entice buyers, including $4000 off selected New Age caravans.
