The indispensable annexe
One camping trailer couple can't leave home without their All-Seasons annexe.By Malcolm Street
Many caravanners can claim to have owned an awning/annexe or two but Ken and Lynda Packenas have owned three, all made by Qld–based All Seasons, along with the caravans that went with them!
Ken and Lynda’s caravanning holidays started with a Jayco camper trailer. It suited their family very well and they enjoyed many a holiday.
Some years later there was something of a shock-horror reaction from their (by now older) children when the family camper was sold and a Jayco Westport pop-top caravan purchased. It had beds for only two, and where were the children going to sleep? Their first All Seasons Kakadu annexe solved that particular problem.
Subsequent vans were a Jayco Heritage and then Ken and Lynda’s current (and very new) model, a Paramount. Both those vans had an All Seasons annexe fitted.
“We reckon they are a good annexe,” says Ken, “and we have always found the All Seasons people very helpful in setting things up for us.”
It might sound as though Ken and Lynda have gone through a few vans but they have been keen caravanners, trying to get away every other weekend for short trips when working and getting full use of their vans.
Now retirement is happening they are planning much longer and more adventurous trips although, as Lynda told CW, “It’s actually quite hard to leave when our grandchildren are just growing up”.
If the family tradition goes on, then CW reckons it won’t be too long before the grandchildren are caravanning too – with an All Seasons annexe attached, of course.
