Melbourne's Supreme has added another feature-packed 'X-rated' off-grid model to its luxury caravan range, with the recent introduction of a new 24ft 6in Base Camp X 'toy hauler' caravan that can accommodate larger families plus their recreational toys.
Like the Supreme Territory X couple or family caravan, the new Supreme Base Camp X comes loaded up with extra off-road and off-grid camping features, including a big 600Ah lithium battery system with Redarc 3000W inverter, Redvision manager and 1050W rooftop solar, to power a range of on-board appliances including a Dometic 224L compressor fridge/freezer and rooftop air conditioner, and a 3kg wall-mounted washing machine.
As far as water storage is concerned, the Base Camp X also lives up to its name with four 95L fresh and one 95L grey water tanks, connected to twin 12V water pumps and a continuous gas/electric hot water system, plus there's a diesel space heater.
A spacious interior layout includes bedding for up to six people, including an east-west double bed, bunks and a lounge/dinette that converts to another bed. The kitchen gets a black sink with matching tap, microwave and four hob cooktop, grille and air fryer, with a separate shower and toilet and plenty of storage cabinetry also part of the package.
Also part of the extensive standard equipment list is a Fusion sound panel, rear view camera, anti-sway system, a slide-out external kitchen, outside shower, bike rack, Cowfish Vantenna, dust reduction system and four wall fans.
Fitted with 4500kg-rated Cruisemaster ATX Stage 3 airbag suspension and a D0-45 coupling, Supreme says the Base Camp X "gives you an ample payload of over 1000kg for all your toys".
Supreme says there's enough room in the rear garage storage area to securely strap down at least two motorbikes using the built-in tie-down points, with two supplied ramps to assist with loading and unloading. Access is via a side door but Supreme is currently working on a more traditional full rear door, drop-down 'ramp' option, as seen on other toy haulers like Jayco's BaseStation.
The first 3289kg Tare, 24ft 6in Supreme Base Camp X (as seen in the photos) is currently located at the Australian Caravan Centre's Melbourne outlet, and priced at $189,000.
However, final pricing of any Base Camp X order will vary depending on the buyer's requirements including any layout changes or customisations. For example, Supreme says the separate rear garage could be converted to a mobile photography studio, on-the-road office or kids' playroom, with an access door added to the rear wall in the space where the washing machine and drawers are located.
As another example of what's possible, one of Supreme's Australian Caravan Centre dealerships in Queensland recently took an order for a 25ft Base Camp X with north-south queen bed and a chassis-mounted OzXCorp 48V lithium battery powerpack. The buyer is planning to tow their new 'dream hauler' with a GMC Sierra Denali pick-up.
