Newcastle’s Don Way went to this year’s NSW Caravan, Camping RV & Holiday Show hoping to win a tent. Instead, he and his wife Denise walked away with a brand new, British-built Bailey Unicorn Valencia caravan, valued at $57,500.
First prize in the Supershow’s annual Passport Competition, the Ways were handed the keys to their sleek new luxury caravan at Bailey dealer Macquarie Caravans in Belmont, NSW last week.
The Supershow competition, which required entrants to punch holes in special ‘passports’ at six checkpoints at the show, attracted over 18,000 entries. A total of 77,000 people went through the gates during the nine-day event at Rosehill Racecourse in April.
Adrian Van Geelan, Managing Director of Bailey Australia which supplied the prize, said he was delighted to support the Supershow by offering the first prize in this year’s Passport Competition.
“Our Bailey caravans have been developed based on 65 years of experience in caravan design,” he said. “We call our new Unicorn Valencia the ‘Caravan of the Future’ because of its sleek space age design.”
Boasting an ATM of 1860kg and ball weight of just 100kg, the 20ft 5in Unicorn Valencia is packed with luxury features including a vertical front skylight, central heating system, stylish kitchen and a queen size bed with large separate en suite.
Don and Denise Way have been caravanning for around 15 years and are regular visitors to the NSW Supershow, one of Australia's largest RV shows.
“This year we visited the Supershow to win a tent, can’t believe we came away with a new caravan,” Don said.
“Now that we have a new caravan, my wife Denise and I are going to take a trip to Shoal Bay to the Blue Water Music festival in June.”
