Supershow winner scores Nova caravan

The Sydney winner of a $45,000 bunk bed caravan plans to treat his family to an Alice Springs adventure

Another major RV show goes by, and another lucky punter goes home with a brand new caravan or camper.

In the case of the NSW Caravan, Camping, RV & Holiday Supershow held in April, the showgoer with the biggest grin was Sydney resident, Sam Jamaleddine, who for the trouble of punching a few holes in a card at various locations around Rosehill Racecourse, collected a Nova caravan worth $45,590.

As the major prize winner in the Sydney Supershow’s Passport Competition, Jamaleddine recently picked up the keys to a 16ft 6in (4.95m) Nova Revivor 16679/4, from the team at Sydney RV Centre in North Narrabeen.

A single axle van weighing 1800kg, the Nova was packed with features for extra comfort including reverse cycle air conditioning, 19 inch flat screen TV, CD stereo, not to mention kitchen, dinette, queen sized island bed and bunk beds.

Jamaleddine was extra-excited to have his entry drawn from the barrel, as his family have been camping for around 10 years and had been shopping around for something a bit more luxurious.

“This year we were looking to upgrade to a caravan or camper trailer, but now our upgrade to a caravan has just happened a bit earlier,” he explained.

“Now that we have a caravan, I’m hoping that my two boys and my wife and I can take a trip out to Australia’s ‘Red Centre’.”

The prize also included third party insurance and two nights on a powered site at Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park.

The second prize winner of the Passport Competition was Karen Rosser, who scored 10 day motorhome hire in a Kea Camper including insurance, valued at $4100.

Third prize winner was Wayne McLeod, who picked up a $2817 camping kit comprising 60 litre Evakool 12 volt fridge/freezer, 100 watt solar panel kit and Evakool portable power pack.

According to the show organisers, the Supershow Passport competition attracted 20,000 entries, out of the 80,000 who passed through the gates during the nine day event.
