Queensland buyers will be able to get their first look at the latest South African-built hybrid campers from Perth-based Mobi Nomad at this year's Queensland Supershow.
Mobi Nomad will be displaying both of its latest off-road fibreglass campers -- the 15ft 6in Mobi Nomad Continental and the just-arrived Mobi Nomad XL compact camper -- at the show which runs from June 6-11 at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
Both hard-bodied lightweight hybrids boast a fibreglass monohull body, galvanised steel chassis, drum brakes and heavy-duty leaf spring suspension, along with various slide-outs, recessed cavities and pop-top sections to maximise storage, comfort and usability.
The Mobi Nomad Continental has a 4.7m long by 2.1m wide body, while inside the 1.95m high interior space there's a permanent double island bed, fold-out table with seating, 135L fridge/freezer, an ensuite with shower and toilet, plus various storage options.
Other standard features include an outside kitchen with a microwave, 100Ah lithium battery system, 150L fresh and 130L grey water capacity, a hot water unit, and both tool and first aid kits.
The interior of the smaller Mobi Nomad XL pop-top camper also features a double bed, small dinette and 1.9m standing room, while other standard features include 214L water storage, a hot water unit, two batwing awnings, an external shower, slide-out storage section, a lithium battery system, and an external kitchen area with space for a 75L fridge as well as a portable toilet.
Priced from $69,500, the Mobi Nomad Continental has a Tare of 1650kg and ATM of 2200kg, while the Mobi Nomad XL has a Tare weight of around 850kg and a 1500kg ATM. The Nomad XL was only released in Australia in early May and no price has been listed yet on the Mobi Nomad website.
Based in the Perth suburb of Wangara, Mobi Nomad started selling a range of sleek off-road hybrid caravans and compact campers from innovative South African manufacturer Mobi Lodge in 2019. Some changes are made to the imported campers before they go on sale in Australia.
The Mobi Nomad campers will be among a number of fresh models on display at the Brisbane Supershow, including the launch of the latest 2024 caravan range from big-selling Chinese/Australian brand Snowy River.
South Australian camper trailer manufacturer Offline will be at the show for the first time with some of its innovative models, while Vision RV will have its latest VH-16 hard-top hybrid caravan with separate shower and toilet layout on display at the Sunseeker Caravans stand.
Reborn luxury Gold Coast RV manufacturer Paradise Motorhomes will also be exhibiting at the Supershow, while there's a good chance that the latest Expedition hybrid from Zone RV will also be there, along with the just-released new Road Owl family van on the stand of Gold Coast dealer Destiny RV.
Among the many accessory brands will be the innovative Wheel Sensei safety product that remotely monitors the temperature of trailer wheel bearings while on the go.
All up, more than 200 exhibitors will be spruiking their wares at the 2023 Queensland Caravan Supershow which will also offer free weight, towing and touring 'masterclasses' throughout the six-day event.
One lucky show visitor will also win a 15th Anniversary Edition MDC Explorer Forward Fold offroad camper trailer worth $22,990.
